Description

Folio: 297v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter C. Grant.

First party: Robert, son of William de Haltun [Halton].

Second party: The paupers of the hospital of Jerusalem living at Scirrebec [Skirbeck].

Place or subject: Twenty-four selions of land in the territory of Haltun [Halton] and three perches of meadow on the north side of Robert's dole on the east side of Hoberke, in width and length only as far as the dole extends. Of these twenty-four selions, five lie in the cultivated field called Geldingwang on the west side, and two selions at Brokenheued; one lies between the land of Ralph de Wime and the land of Robert ad Grene; and the other lies between the land of Rose, late the wife of William the miller, and the land of Gilbert, son of William son of Askel; and three selions in Clegland lie between the land of Walter Carbunel [Carbonel] and Rose's land; and one selion in Flatlant called Andreuwendhing, which lies next to the land of Robert at Grene; and two selions in Flatlant lie between the land of John, father-in-law of Ralph son of Thoue, and Rose's land; and one selion lies on the south side of Steynholes between two selions of Ralph son of Thoue; and one selion lies on the north side of Wikerdale between the land of Ralph son of Thoue and the land of William Blud, and nine selions upon Stocbrigefurlanges, three of which lie on one side of the land of Robert Grundlokere and another three selions on the other side; and three selions abutting upon the way of Stocbrigefurlanges, with all appurtenances. For the souls of Robert's ancestors in pure and perpetual alms. To hold in pure and perpetual alms freely and peacefully.
