First party: Gilbert de Beningwurth [Benniworth].
Second party: Ranulf, earl of Chester and Lincoln [Ranulf de Blundeville].
Place or subject: Gilbert and his heirs ought to hold of the earl and his heirs ten knights' fees from Gilbert's inheritance which were of Roger, his father, doing to the same earl and his heirs the service due from those ten knights' fees. There are to be accounted to Gilbert and his heirs his services of three and a half knights' fees, and a fourteenth part of one knight's fee, in the manors of Hauton [Halton], Yreby [Irby], Steping [Steeping] and Kintorp [Kingthorpe], which manors Gilbert gave to the earl and his heirs and by his charters quitclaimed from Gilbert and his heirs.
