First party: Hugh, son of Hugh de Freskene [Friskney].
Second party: Ranulf, earl of Chester and Lincoln [Ranulf de Blundeville].
Place or subject: The whole of Hugh's croft of Smalna in the territory of Wrangel [Wrangle] in length and width with all appurtenances, and abutting towards the west upon the land of Ranulf, son of Eudo of Freskene, and towards the east upon the land of Simon le Bret, and it lies between the land of Richard, son of Eudo, and Smalna. To hold to Ranulf and his heirs or assigns from Hugh and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully and in inheritance, paying yearly to Hugh and his heirs two pounds of pepper and 1d at the feast of St Botolph for all service and exaction.
