Description

Folio: 247. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Grant.

First party: William, son of Geoffrey the chaplain of Gayton.

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Salfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: One acre of arable land lying in the territory of Ristun [Reston], without any reservation, namely two selions lying between the land of John son of Reginald and the land of Etheldreda, and abutting towards the south upon the land of the lady, and towards the north upon the land of the church of Reston; and one selion lying between the lands of John and Etheldreda, and abutting upon the south upon the land of the lady, and towards the north upon the land of the church of Reston; and a fourth selion lying in the same field between those lands. To hold to Philip and his heirs of William and his heirs well, in peace, freely and quietly for one mark of silver paid in advance. Paying yearly to William and his heirs one clove at Michaelmas for all secular services, customs and demands.
