Description

Folio: 245v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Acknowledgement of enfeoffment.

First party: Robert de Coudrey.

Second party: Henry de Lascy [Lacy], earl of Lincoln and constable of Chester.

Place or subject: Robert makes known that he has been enfeoffed by Henry de Lacy, earl of Lincoln and constable of Chester, of the whole fishery of eels of Northmeles [North Meols] with all appurtenances. Paying to the earl and his heirs two marks at Michaelmas for all services, customs and demands. If it happens that Robert or his heirs default in the payment of these two marks of yearly rent during this term, he binds himself and his heirs and all the land he holds of the earl, into whosesoever's hands that land passes, to the coercion and distraint of the earl and his heirs, until full satisfaction has been made to them.
