Description

Folios: 243v-244. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Quitclaim.

First party: Emma, daughter of Anketin de Kales [Keal].

Second party: Ranulf, earl of Chester and Lincoln.

Place or subject: The sixteenth part of one knight's fee with appurtenances which Emma held of the same earl in Esterkales [East Keal] and Westerkales [West Keal]. To hold freely, quietly, honourably, fully and entirely without challenge from Emma and her heirs forever.

County: [Lincolnshire].

Additional people: Witnesses: Gilbert Cusin, then steward of the same earl; William de Beningwurth; Ketelbert de Kales; William de Quercu; Nicholas Bec; Richard de Halton; Henry Bec de Luceby; Henry de Steping [Steeping]; Ralph Hardwyn; William Cusyn; and David the clerk.
