Description

Folios: 243-243v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Appointment of attorney.

First party: Henry de Lascy [Lacy], earl of Lincoln and constable of Chester.

Second party: William de Nony.

Place or subject: The earl has given William full power to put the abbot of Thorneton [Thornton] in seisin of the manor of Halton on Humbre [East Halton] with appurtenances, which manor the earl gave to the abbot and convent and their successors. Saving to the earl the homages and all the services of freeholders appendant to his manor of Bolingbrok [Bolingbroke], and saving the wardship of the tenements which were of Peter de Goushill in Halton [East Halton] until the lawful age of his heirs. And the homage and all the services of Peter's heirs, until the earl has been informed if these are appurtenant to the manor of East Halton. If they are appurtenant to that manor, the earl grants that the homage and services of Peter's heirs are to remain forever to the abbot and convent and their sucessors. If not, they are to remain to the earl and his heirs forever, and saving to Robert son of Roger £29 19s 6d of rent from the same manor for life.
