Description

Folio: 242. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Agreement.

First party: Alice de Lascy [Lacy].

Second party: Henry de Lascy, her son.

Place or subject: Henry grants to Alice, his mother, for life in the name of dower, the lands and tenements of which she was endowed by the king, together with the lands and tenements which she recovered by the name of warranty made to Edmund de Lascy. He granted to his mother the manors of Hautone on Trente [Halton], Hautebarge [Alkborough] and Wadenhou [Wadenhoe], with wardships, reliefs, escheats and all other their appurtenances, to hold during her life, saving advowsons of churches. Alice quitclaims forever to Henry all her dower of Hautone [Halton], Cheshire, together with what she has in Wydnes [Widnes] and Almanebir', with wardships, reliefs, escheats and appurtenances, saving herbage for the maintenance of six cow-sheds in Merchedene. She also grants to her son the profit of her courts of Pountfreint [Pontefract] and Cliderhou [Clitheroe] both from freeholders, who attorn to her, in the name of dower, and from other tenants, saving to her from her tenants wardships, reliefs and escheats.
