Description

Folio: 240. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Confirmation.

First party: John, son of Alexander de Cestrehunte [Cheshunt].

Second party: Robert de Burgo [Burgh].

Place or subject: The whole tenement with appurtenances in the vill of St Botulph [Boston] which he had from the gift of Alexander de Cestrehunte, his father. To hold to Robert and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, well and in peace forever, paying yearly to John and his heirs one half-pound of pepper at the feast of St John the Baptist, and 5s 3d to the earl of Richemund [Richmond] at two terms, namely 5s at the feast of St John the Baptist and 3d at Christmas, for all services, exactions and demands. For this confirmation Robert gave John one mark of silver.
