Description

Folios: 239v-240. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Grant.

First party: Robert, son of Goscelin de Spilesby [Spilsby].

Second party: John, son of Richard de Thorp.

Place or subject: Twelve selions of arable land in the territory of Spilesby [Spilsby] with appurtenances, namely three selions lying together in Driddale between the land of Walter, son of Baldric of Spilsby and the land of Alan, son of William Luth' of Spilsby, three selions lying together below Byhill between the land of Nicholas Bec and the land of William Herre of Spilsby, four selions lying together upon Riscwang between the land of Gilbert Dispensarius [Despenser] of Spilsby and the land of Simon, son of Gerard of Thorp, a certain headland at Manhou, which lies next to the land of William Herre, next to the plot on the south side, and one selion at Gate Graines lying between the land of the hospital of Parthenaie [Partney] and the land of Walter, son of Baldric of Spilsby. For his homage and service. To hold of Robert and his heirs in fee and inheritance freely, quietly and honourably from all services and exactions, paying yearly to Robert and his heirs one penny only at Christmas.
