First party: William de Rumare [Roumare].
Second party: Roger de Tillol, his man.
Place or subject: Roger has quitclaimed to William and his heirs his whole land of England, which he had in the soke of Bulingbroc [Bolingbroke], namely in Harebi [Hareby], Endrebi [Mavis Enderby] and Hundelbi [Hundleby], quit from him and his heirs forever, without all reclaim, for £16 worth of rent of money of Anjou yearly in Normandy, to be paid in his life. After his death these £16 will return to William and his heirs. William attorned Roger in Romara [Roumare] and 'Wium Villa', namely in his multure paid in cash of Roumare, which pertains to his mill of Barentin from 100s of Anjou, as entirely as that multure was in the year before he gave it, namely in the year in which William Pinchewere bought it from Robert Drou. [Further details given]. William attorned Roger in nineteen acres of land which Gilbert le Toner held in Romare [Roumare], in one acre of land which Roger holds in Roumare from 70s of Anjou, and in Wium Villa he attorned him in five acres of meadow called la Trenteine, and next to that meadow called la Quarenteine, in three and a half acres of meadow from £7 10s of Anjou. The sum total is £16 of Anjou. He gave this £16 of rent to him to hold during his whole life for his whole land of England, which he had in the wapentake of Bolinbroc [Bolingbroke], namely in Harebi [Hareby], Endrebi [Mavis Enderby] and Hundelbi [Hundleby], which Roger claimed quit, and he handed over to William de Rum' and his heirs from his and his heirs, in such a way that £16 of rent after Roger's death will return to William and his heirs. For this grant William granted to Roger the whole of his land of Buteilles [Rouxmesnil-Bouteilles] and to Ralph, his nephew, after Roger's death, to hold in chief of William and his heirs to Roger and his heirs.
