Description

Folio: 235v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Grant.

First party: Henry II.

Second party: Roger de Beningword [Benniworth].

Place or subject: The whole of the land which the father and grandfather of William de Romara [Roumare] gave to them for his homage and service, just as that same William granted it to them and confirmed by his charter, namely forty-two bovates, and six and a half bovates which Audenker held, and two bovates and the service of Hugh de Steping [Steeping], and the whole land which Walter, his father, held by the service of eight and a half knights from William's ancestors. To hold from William and his heirs by the service of six knights, just as William's charter testifies, well and in peace, freely and quietly, entirely, fully and honourably in the vill and outsidel, in wood, plain, meadows, pastures, marshes, ways, paths and in all other places and things pertaining to them, with all liberties and free customs.
