Description

Folios: 235-235v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Quitclaim.

First party: Roger de Tillol.

Second party: William de Rom' [Roumare].

Place or subject: The whole of Roger's land of England which he has in the soke of Bulinbroc [Bolingbroke], namely in Hareby, Endrebi [Mavis Enderby] and Hundelbi [Hundleby], free and quit from Roger and his heirs to William and his heirs forever, for £16 worth of rent in money of Anjou, which William gave to Roger in Normandy. To have during all the days of Roger's life. After his death the rent will return to William and his heirs, and he attorned Roger for the lands in Romara [Roumare] and 'Wium Villa'. [Further details given]. For this quitclaim William granted Roger his land of Butelles [Rouxmesnil-Bouteilles] and to Ralph, Roger's nephew, after Roger's death, to hold of him in chief.
