Folios: 232v-233. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Quitclaim of the feoffees of Henry, duke of Lancaster [Henry of Grosmont].
First party: John, bishop of Lincoln [John Buckingham], Richard [fitz Alan], earl of Arundel, Robert de la Mare, John de Bukland [Buckland], John Charnels, Walter Power, Simon Symeon and John Neumarche.
Second party: John, earl of Lancaster and Richemond [Richmond] [John of Gaunt], and Blanch,e his wife.
Place or subject: The castle of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke] and the park pertaining to it with all advowsons of churches, abbeys, priories, hospitals and other religious gifts and knights' fees pertaining to the castle and soke, which the feoffees had from the gift of Henry, duke of Lancaster, by fine levied in the king's court, as fully and entirely as Henry de Lacy, late earl of Lincoln, held them, retaining to them the manor, vill and soke of Bolingbroke and the manors of Sutton, Thoresby, Wathe [Waithe] and Ingoldemeles [Ingoldmells], Lincolnshire, as fully as they had them from the gift of the duke of Lancaster by fine levied in the king's court, excepting the castle of Bolingbroke and the park, knights' fees and advowsons. They have also quitclaimed to John and Blanche and their heirs in tail the castle, vill, manor and honor of Tuttebury [Tutbury], in whatever counties, honor or part of an honor it is, with appurtenances; and the vills of Screpton [Scropton], Marchyngton [Marchington], Chalangewode [Callingwood], Uttexhatre [Uttoxeter], Adgarest [Agardsley] and Neweburgh [Newborough], Staffordshire; and the hundred of Hegham Fereres [Higham Ferrers], and the manors of Higham Ferrers, Raundes [Raunds] and Rissheden [Rushden], Northamptonshire, as fully and entirely as they held them by the gift of the duke of Lancaster. To hold to John, earl of Lancaster and Richmond and Blanche, his wife, and their heirs in tail of the king and his heirs by the services due and accustomed forever. If the earl and Blanche die without heirs in tail, then after their death all the premises are to remain to the right heirs of Henry, duke of Lancaster.
