First party: Alan Waldesef and Aveline, his wife.
Second party: Edmund, brother of Edward I [Edmund of Lancaster].
Place or subject: The manor of Schenleye [Shenley] with appurtenances in Essex, and the manor of Lachebrok [Lashbrook] with appurtenances in Oxfordshire. Whereupon a plea of covenant was summoned between them in court. Namely that Edmund acknowledged these manors to be the right of Aveline and those they handed over to them in court, to hold to Alan and Aveline and the heirs which Alan begets of the body of Aveline, of the chief lords of that fee by the services which pertain to those manors forever. If it happens that Alan dies without heirs begotten by her body, then after their deaths, these manors will entirely remain to her right heirs.
