Description

Folio: 220. Middlesex. Grant.

First party: Thomas, earl of Lancaster and Leicester, steward of England.

Second party: John de Monemue [Monmouth], bishop of Landaf [Llandaff].

Place or subject: One plot of land adjoining his houses near to the church of our lady of la Stronde [Strand] outside London, which houses are built upon the plot which was given to his predecessor, and the place lying on the west of his houses [details given], containing in length 98 feet and in width 12 feet. To hold of the earl and his heirs to John and his successors as bishops of Landaf [Llandaff] forever freely and quietly. The earl grants that John and his successors can enclose theis plot with a wall or fence. [Further details given].
