Description

Folio: 219v. Middlesex. Quitclaim.

First party: Aymer de Valence, earl of Pembroke, lord of Weyseford [Wexford] and Montimak [Montignac].

Second party: Thomas, earl of Lancaster and Leicester, steward of England.

Place or subject: For the grant and gift which the king has made to Aymer and his heirs in tail of the lands and tenements in Munemuth [Monmouth] with the appurtenances in exchange for lands and tenements, contained in a charter containing a quitclaim of Thorp Watervill' [Thorpe Waterville], Aldewyncle [Aldwickle] and Achirche [Achurch], Aymer has quitclaimed to Thomas, earl of Lancaster and Leicester, steward of England, and his heirs and assigns all the right and claim which he has in the manor of New Temple, London, and the buildings, lands and rents which were of the Templars in the suburbs of London and in Middlesex, which are of the fee and honor of Leicester. To hold to the earl of Lancaster and his heirs and assigns of the chief lords of the fee by the services due and accustomed forever.
