Place or subject: 1. A charter [recited] which the king's mother, Eleanor, queen of England [Eleanor of Provence], made to Edmund the king's brother [Edmund of Lancaster], dated at Lotegarshale [Ludgershall] on 24 Feb 12 Edw. I, granting to him the houses, garden, places and rents with appurtenances which Eleanor had from the purchase from the provost and chapter of the house of Montis Jovis [Mont Joux], and which were formerly of her uncle, Peter, count of Savoy, outside the city of London in the parish of the Holy Innocents of Album Monasterium [White Church]. 2. Letters [recited], dated at Montem Jovis [Mont Joux] on the fourth feast day after Palm Sumday 1270, which the provost of the house of paupers of Mont Joux and the chapter of the same place made to Queen Eleanor, granting to her the houses or manor which P. late count of Savoy bequeathed and granted to the provost in his will in pure and perpetual alms, which same houses were situated outside the city of London in the parish of Holy Innocents of White Church, by sale for 300 marks sterling. 3. Letter of confirmation [recited], which Henry III made to the provost and chapter about the houses or manor, dated at Wodestok [Woodstock] on 9 Jul 52 Hen. III. 4. A charter [recited], dated at Lichfield on the day of St Thomas the Martyr 1278, which Roger de Meuland, bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, made to Edmund and Blanche, queen of Navarre, his wife, granting them one plot of land which lies between Edmund's plot, formerly of Peter de Sabaud', and the plot of Robert le Cupere, in the street of Westminster near to the church called White Church. 5. Letter of confirmation [recited], which the dean and chapter of Lichfield made to Edmund and Blanche concerning that place, dated at Lichfield on 17 kalends May 1279. 1. To hold to Edmund, his heirs and assigns freely, quietly, entirely, well and in peace by right of inheritance forever, without any reservation. 4. To hold to Edmund and Blanche and their heirs or assigns without opposition of the bishop well and in peace forever, doing to the chief lords of the fee the service due and accustomed.
