Place or subject: Whereas Edmund, son of Henry III committed to the prior and brethren the custody of the hospital of St Clement outside the bar of the New Temple, London, with appurtenances, which he had as long as it was pleasing to Edmund, the prior and brethren grant for themselves and their successors that, if Edmund receives any mandate from the pope or patriarch, by which he wishes to have again the custody of the hospital, they will hand over and cause Edmund to have again that hospital and its custody according to how they received it from him, fully and entirely, without any opposition.
