First party: Geoffrey, earl of Esessa [Essex].

Second party: Robert, earl of Leicester.

Place or subject: Brohesburnam, which Geoffrey held of Robert, earl of Leicester, in fee and inheritance by the service of one knight. For an exchange which the earl of Leicester gave to Geoffrey and his heirs in Great Nerhaven by the half part of the service of one knight. The exchange is, as follows: 76 acres in two fields from his demesne and a certain courtyard between his ancient courtyard and the monastery, two yardlands which Hamelin holds and one cottager who holds five acres and one croft and 12d in the mill, and such rent as pertains to those 76 acres with the meadow pertaining to such land, with all stock, namely four oxen, eighty sheep and three pigs, each pig priced 6d. Robert gave this to Geoffrey and his heirs for £4 worth of land in the service of half part of one knight.
