Description

Folios: 211-211v. Devon and Cornwall. Grant.

First party: Rose de Dovre [Dover] with the assent and will of Nicholas son of Alan, her husband.

Second party: William Briwerr' [Brewer].

Place or subject: All her lands and tenements in Cornwall and whatever right she has or had in the same lands, and whatever could fall to her or her heirs, namely the whole land of Trewerok, the whole land of Menely, the moiety of Treglastan [Treglasta], the moiety of Trevern, and the whole land of Trenant, with the advowsons of churches and with all their liberties and appurtenances. To hold to Wiliam and his heirs of Rose and her heirs in right of inheritance without any reservation. She has also granted William the fees and services of nine knights which William de Boterell' [Botreaux] held of the honor of Richard de Lucy. And the fee and service of half a knight which Rembald de St Neoto [St Neots] held of the same honor. And the fee and service of half a knight which Gervase Bloyo held of that honor. And the rent and service of Bickel' [Bickleigh] in Devon of the same honor. And her whole land in Neuton [Newton] in Kent, with the homages and services of knights and freeholders and all liberties and appurtenances. For his homage and service. To hold as freely, quietly, peacefully and entirely in woods, plains, waters and all places and liberties and free customs, just as any of their predecessors ever held them, doing to Nicholas and Rose or their heirs the service of eleven knights' fees for all services.
