Place or subject: Peter has granted to Patrick the whole of his land which he held of him in the vill of Stondene [Standen] with all appurtenances, and the whole of his land of Achulle [Oakhill] with appurtenances which he held of William de St Martin, and the whole of his land of Lillingeston with appurtenances which he held of the king in chief, and the whole of the land called Tomhater with all appurtenances which he held of Hugh de Chastellun, with his whole wood of Nortune, which he held of William Marshal, with all appurtenances. To hold of Peter and his heirs to Patrick and his heirs or assigns freely, entirely and peacefully from that term to the end of those fifteen years next following, in such a way that, if Peter begets an heir from his lawful wife, Margery, daughter of Richard de Clifford, after the term of fifteen years is completed, the whole of that land is to revert to Peter or his heirs. If it happens that within that term Peter does not have an heir by his lawful wife Margery, he is to appoint Patrick de Chaurcis as his heir of his whole land, and place him in seisin by his lawful deed. For this grant Patrick gave Peter 110 marks sterling. [Further details given].
