Second party: Hervey de Chawrces, his brother.
Place or subject: Payn's manor of Berewike St James [Berwick St James] with all appurtenances in homages, services, lands, tenements, meadows, pastures, rents and all other things pertaining to it, which could fall in by right of inheritance or any other case to Payn or his heirs in that manor. For his homage and service. To hold to Henry and his heirs or assigns, excepting religious houses and Jews, freely, quietly, entirely and peacefully forever, paying yearly to Payn and his heirs or assigns one pair of white gloves on Easter Day for all service, suit of court and all secular service and demand, saving royal and foreign service.
