Description

Folios: 183-183v. Wiltshire. Grant.

First party: Ranulph de Vallibus [Vaux].

Second party: William Briewerre [Brewer].

Place or subject: The whole land of Hoboton and Leveston with all appurtenances. For his homage and service. To hold to William and his heirs of Ranulph and his heirs in fee and inheritance by the service of a sixth part of one knight and by one serjeant, who is to make summons pertaining to the hundred-court of Herminton. Ranulph has also given William the whole land of Duningeston with appurtenances, to hold of him and his heirs in inheritance by the service of one knight for all service. And he has also given him the service of Patinton, namely the service of one knight, and the service of Roger de Spineto of Sanford, namely the service of one knight. William and his heirs after him are to do the same services to Ranulph and his heirs, to hold well, in peace, freely and quietly in ways, paths, meadows, pastures, waters, watercourses, mills, ponds, homages, reliefs, churches and their advowsons, and in all things and places with all liberties and free customs pertaining to that land by theis service for all service pertaining to Ranulph. For this gift William gave Ranulph sixty-five marks of silver.
