Folios: 178v-179. Hampshire. Agreement.
First party: Patrick de Chaworc' [Chaworth].
Second party: Ralph Paen of Sumburne [King's Somborne].
Place or subject: Patrick granted to Ralph and his heirs, in augmentation of his tenement in Sumburne [King's Somborne], the whole pasture with appurtenances called Cherlewude, which lies between Hykenildstrete and the demesne field of Esseleg' [Ashley], and one headland of that pasture on the west side which abuts upon Paenesfeld and on the east side upon Esselingefeld. To hold to Ralph and his heirs freely, quietly, entirely and in right of inheritance forever, as if appurtenant to his free tenement which he previously held in Sumburne [King's Somborne]. Patrick granted to Ralph and his heirs his seisin of having reasonable estover in his wood of Parnholt for housebote and haybote by view of his woodward. He also granted to Ralph and his heirs that, from the housebote and haybote which he receives from his wood, he can enclose his chase to that pasture of Cherlewud freely and without opposition, in such a way that, for lack of his enclosure or that of his heirs, Patrick or his heirs are to incur no damage in their fields or pastures. For this grant and recovery of his seisin of housebote and haybote in Parnholt, Ralph quitclaimed to Patrick and his heirs all his right and claim which he had or in any way could have by reason of any chirograph of final concord completed between William Briwere [Brewer] and Walter Paen, Ralph's father, in the king's court, in all assarts made on the south side of King's Somborne from the wood of Parnholt and in the pastures of la Cumbe, la Bercherie, Kingeslonde and Standene.
County: [Hampshire].
