Description

Folios: 176-176v. Hampshire. Agreement.

First party: Hugh de St Martin.

Second party: Richard Wyard.

Place or subject: Hugh has granted and handed over to Richard half a yardland with appurtenances in the field of Colemarsangre, which Peter Hupedune held of him. He has also granted to Richard the pasture in the common, as far as it pertains to half a yardland of the same vill. To hold to Richard and his heirs of Hugh and his heirs from Hockday, 30 Hen. III, until the term of eight years following has been completed, paying yearly to Hugh and his heirs 10s of silver at the four terms of the year, namely 2s 6d at the feast of St Thomas the Apostle, 2s 6d at the Annunciation of the Blessed Mary, 2s 6d at the feast of St John the Baptist, and 2s 6d at Michaelmas, and four autumn boon-works, and at each boon-work two men for all secular exaction and demand, saving royal service. For this grant Richard gave Hugh 10s of silver in advance.
