Folio: 175v. Hampshire. Final concord.
First party: Robert Walram [Walerand].
Second party: Patrick de Chawrces [Chaworth].
Place or subject: £10 worth of land with appurtenances in Halleworth. Whereupon a plea of covenant was summoned between them in the same court, namely that Robert acknowledged that £10 of land to be the right of Patrick, and he handed them over to him in the same court, and he remised and quitclaimed for himself and his heirs to Patrick and his heirs the whole right and claim which he had or could have in that £10 worth of land forever. For this concord Patrick granted Robert £10 of annual rent, to be received at the octave of Michaelmas in his manor of Swomburne [King's Somborne] by the hands of Patrick and his heirs or his bailiffs for the time being during Robert's life. If Patrick or his heirs make default in the payment of that £10 a year at the term, it will be lawful for Robert to distrain him and his heirs by chattels found within that manor of Sumburn [King's Somborne], until the full payment of that £10 a year, without opposition or impediment from Patrick or his heirs or bailiffs. And after Robert's death Patrick and his heirs will be quit of the payment of that £10 a year forever.
County: [Hampshire].
Additional people: Made before the king, William de Cantil' [Cantilupe], Bertram de Curioll [Criel], John de Lessinton' [Laxton], steward of the king, Jeremias de Caxton, Henry de la Mare and Henry de Brutton [Britton], justices.
Made in the king's court at Westminster.
The quindene after the Purification of the Blessed Mary, 33 Hen III.
DL 42
