Folios: 175-175v. Hampshire. Inspeximus by Payn de Chauvorces [Chaworth] of a charter formerly of Margery de la Fyerte [Feritate], his ancestor.
First party: Pain de Chauvorces.
Second party: [unspecified].
Place or subject: It was agreed between Margery de Feritate, querent, and Walter, abbot of Hyda [Hyde], and the convent there, deforciants, concerning the services and customs which Margery was exacting from the abbot and convent, namely from corn, cheese, hens and eggs, and from the service of ploughs, harvests and carriages of corn, which customs and services Margery claimed as appurtenant to her hundred of Sumburn [King's Somborne] from the free tenement of the abbot and convent in Lecford [Leckford] and Foghlerton [Fullerton], and concerning which there was a dispute between them, namely that Margery, for God and for the souls of William, her father, William, her brother, and all her ancestors, quitclaimed from herself and his heirs to the abbot and convent and their successors the whole right and claim which she had in those services and customs and all other services and customs pertaining to that hundred from the same vills forever, saving to Margery and her heirs the suit which the men of the abbot and convent made for those vills previously at the hundred-court, just as they are accustomed and ought to do with all those things which pertain to that suit. For this quitclaim the abbot gave to Margery eighteen marks of silver.
County: [Hampshire].
