Description

Folios: 172v-173. Hampshire. Grant and quitclaim.

First party: John Gumbott.

Second party: William Briwer' [Brewer].

Place or subject: The whole of John's land of Ychestoke [Itchen Stoke] with all liberties, easements and free customs and other free appurtenances pertaining to the vill of Itchen Stoke within the vill and outside, in wood, plain, meadows, pastures, ways, paths, moors, marshes, ponds, mills, and in all other liberties and free customs pertaining within the vill and outside, and with the gift of the church of the same vill, and with all other appurtenances pertaining to the church. John quitclaims all his right to that land to William, his heirs or assigns and also all his right in the same vill of Itchen Stoke and with the homage of Robert de Pinkemor and his heirs; and also all his land of Pinkemor entirely without any reservation, with appurtenances, liberties and easements within the vill and outside. To hold all those lands freely, quietly, honourably, peacefully and by right of inheritance in all things pertaining to the gift of the church of Itchen Stoke and those homages, paying yearly to John and his heirs four pounds of wax at the Nativity of St Mary in September for all service, secular exaction and demand.
