Description

Folio: 167v. Hampshire. Grant.

First party: Richard I.

Second party: William Brieguerr' [Brewer].

Place or subject: A certain osier bed which was in his common pasture between Sumburn [King's Somborne] and Hakeleg, in which there are contained 200 acres. And another osier bed called la Rigge between the land of the same William of Burcbech and Wlfhal, to be assarted and brought into cultivation, and to be held forever of the king and his heirs to William and his heirs within the service due to the king of two knights' fees from the manor of King's Somborne. The king has also granted William licence to enclose two thickets which are outside the regard of the king's forest, one of which is between King's Somborne and Estoubruge, and the other is called Hoonde. William and his heirs are to hold the premises of the king and his heirs well and in peace, freely and quietly, fully and honourably in wood, plain, meadows, pastures, waters, mills, ponds, and in all places and things with all liberties and free customs.
