Description

Folios: 159v-160. Berkshire. Agreement.

First party: Patrick de Chaworth and Hawise de London, his wife.

Second party: Henry de Tracy.

Place or subject: Henry ought to come into the king's court at the summons of Patrick and Hawise to make a chirograph concerning the manor of Egereston [East Garston] with appurtenances, together with the advowson of the church, to Patrick and Hawise, his wife. And if Patrick has no heir by Hawise, then the manor ought to revert to the heirs of Hawise without opposition. Patrick and Hawise granted the manor for themselves and his heirs to Eva de Tracy with services, homages and the advowson of the church, to hold for the whole of her life without any reservation. If it happens that Hawise dies before she has an heir by Patrick, this manor ought to revert after the death of Eva de Tracy to Philip for the whole of his life for the cost which he has laid down in acquiring land for Hawise. And after Phiilip's death, the manor ought to revert to Hawise's heirs without opposition. If Henry goes against this agreement by any fraud, he is bound to make over to Philip and Hawise and the heirs £40 worth of land.

County: [Berkshire].
