Description

Folio: 155v. Bedfordshire. Descent relating to the Latimer family.

Place or subject: Robert de Braybrok [Braybrooke], formerly sheriff of Northamptonshire, bought from Eustace de Watford senior a meadow called Santford, paying 2s annually to Eustace. This Robert begot Henry de Braybrok, who gave that meadow to the house of Davyntre [Daventry] at perpetual farm for six and a half marks a year, to be paid to him and his heirs, 100 years ago and more. Henry begot Wischard Ledet, who took the surname of his mother Christiana Ledet, lady of Wardone [Chipping Warden]. This Wischard begot Walter Ledet. And this Walter begot from Ermedrua de Insula two daughters, Alice and Christiana, sisters. Alice married William le Latymer, who begot from her four sons, William, John, Thomas and Nicholas, knights. To which Nicholas Lady Alice, his mother, after the death of her husband, gave all the lands and tenements which she had in the counties of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. Christiana married John, brother of William le Latymer the elder, who begot from her two sons, Thomas and William, knights.
