Folios: 154v-155. Bedfordshire. Descent relating to the Latimer family.
Place or subject: Guy de Reymecourt held the manor of Burton [Burton Latimer], Northants, and divers other lands in England from the conquest of England. From this Guy there descended Richard de Reymecurt, his son and heir, who held all the lands of his father in England, etc, until the reign of Henry I. From this Richard there descended Margery, his daughter and heir, who married Robert Folyot, lord of Sutton, Beds. And Henry I by his charter gave all the lands to Robert by to his marriage to Margery. From Robert Folyot and Margery there descended to Richard Folyot, their son and heir. From which Richard there descended Margery, his daughter and heir, who married Wischard Ledet, son of Christiana, lord of Langton, Leics. From Wischard Ledet and Margery there descended Christiana, their daughter and heir. Ivo de Nouomarche [Neufmarche], who came to England with William I, had certain lands in Nouemarche and Besu in Normandy, and also certain lands in Braybrok [Braybrooke], Bugedon [Bowden], Lubbedenho [Lubenham] and Smetheton [Smeeton], Northants and Leics. From this Ivo descended two daughters and heirs, Emma and Aubrey. Emma married Hugh de Seintliz. From which Hugh and Emma there descended Henry Seintliz, son and heir of Aubrey, who married one Ingebald, from whom there descended Robert Mey, who was then called Robert Braybrok. And by agreement made between Henry Seintliz and Robert de Braybrok, Henry had all the lands of Ivo in Normandy, and Robert had all the lands of Ivo in Braybrooke and elsewhere in England. This Robert de Braybrok was keeper of the wardrobe of King John. And in 12 John he purchased the vill of Langeton [Langton] from Wischard Ledet for 200 marks, of which he acquitted Wischard. Robert also purchased the manor of Sutton from Wischard and Margery, his wife, for 500 marks, etc. And these purchases were made by fine levied in the court of King John in 12 John. From this Robert Braybrok there descended Henry de Braybrok, his son and heir, who married Christiana, daughter and heir of Wischard Ledet. And from Henry and Christiana there descended two sons, Wischard and John. Wischard was called Wischard Ledet after his mother, and John was called John de Braybrok after his father. From this Wischard there descended Walter Ledet. From Walter there descended two daughters Alice and Christiana. At the feast of Pentecost, 50 Hen. III, Alice, daughter of Walter Ledet married William le Latymer [Latimer], one of the king's knights, and Christiana, her sister, married John le Latymer, brother of this William le Latymer. From William Latymer and Alice there descended two sons, William and Nicholas. And William Latymer the father died in 33 Edw. I. And Nicholas died in 17 Edw. I. From William, son of William Latymer, and Alice there descended William Latymer, who married Elizabeth, daughter of the baron of Weleyt, and from this William and Elizabeth there descended William, Lord Latimer, who last died. And from him there descended Elizabeth, who was the wife of John de Neville of Raby. William Latymer, son of William and Alice Latymer, died in 19 Edw. II. From John le Latymer and Christiana, his wife there descended Thomas Latymer, their son and heir, called Bechard, lord of Wardon [Chipping Warden] and Braybroke [Braybrooke], Northants, and from Thomas le Latymer there descended Warin le Latymer, father of Thomas who now is.
