Description

Folios: 148-150. Bedfordshire. Inspeximus of the tenor of a record and process of a dispute.

First party: Richard II.

Second party: At the request of Henry, earl of Derby [Henry of Bolingbroke].

Place or subject: The tenor of a record and process of a dispute before John de Metyngham and Thomas Bray, late justices in eyre in Bedfordshire, 15 Edw. I, between the king and William le Latymer [Latimer] and Alice, his wife. William and Alice were to answer as to by what warrant they claimed to have view of frankpledge and waif in Sutton, Sneton and Potton, and in the manor of Cadesbury [Cadbury] and Holm [Holme], free warren in Sutton and Potton, and a market in Potton. Also the tenor of a record and process of a dispute summoned at Bedford before Robert de Arderne and his fellow justices there in 4 Edw. III between the king and William le Latymer, as to by what warrant he claimed to have in his manor of Sutton as of the honor of Huntyngdon [Huntingdon] view of frankpledge, waif and stray, infangenthef and free warren, and view of frankpledge in Holme by Bykleswade [Biggleswade], and in his manor of Potton and a free weekly market on Saturday. [Further details given].
