The jurors say upon their oath that William le Latymer held on the day he died in the vill of Estlangeton [East Langton] of the inheritance of Alice, his wife, eleven yardlands of Nicholas de Asteleye by knight service. From which two freeholders hold one yardland and pay 2s 6d a year at the three terms of year, namely the feast of the Purification of the Blessed Mary and Michaelmas in equal portions; and ten yardlands are held in villeinage, whereof each yardland contains fifteen acres with meadow, and each acre is worth 9d a year and ought to be paid at those terms. There are there in the same vill three cottars who pay 3s a year at those terms. He had in the same vill a moiety of one windmill and pays 13s 4d a year at the same terms. He also had in Kirkelangeton [Church Langton] on the day he died 2s 6d of free rent, issuing from two freeholders holding half a yardland of the inheritance of Alice, his wife, and it is held of Nicholas de Asteleye by knight service. He had in Thorp by Langeton [Thorpe Langton] 10s 6d of annual rent issuing from five freeholders, and they hold two yardlands, and they are held of Nicholas by that service, and that rent ought to be paid at those terms. He also had in Foxton 2s of annual rent issuing from two freeholders, who hold half a yardland, and it is held of Ralph de St Laudo by knight service and of the inheritance of Alice, his wife, and that rent ought to be paid at the three terms of the year, namely at the Annunciation of the Blessed Mary, the Assumption of the Blessed Mary and the feast of All Saints in equal portions. And one freeholder in the same vill holds half a yardland and pays yearly half a pound of pepper at Christmas. And another freeholder holds in the same one cottage and pays yearly two capons at Christmas. There are there eight villeins and they hold four yardlands, and each yardland of land and meadow contains fifteen acres, the price of an acre being 9d. And that rent ought to be paid at those terms named in that vill. He also had in Gummundeleye [Gumley] 19s of annual rent issuing from three cottars and they are held of Ralph de St Laudo by knight service, and from the inheritance of Alice, his wife, and that rent ought to be paid at tthree terms of the year, namely the Annunciation and the Assumption of the Blessed Mary and the feast of All Saints.
