Description

Folios: 132-132v. Northamptonshire. Grant.

First party: John Syward, son and heir of Richard Syward.

Second party: Thomas, earl of Lancaster and Leicester, steward of England.

Place or subject: The manor of Chelvestone [Chelveston] near Hegham Ferers [Higham Ferrers] and all the lands and tenements which John had on the day of the completion of this charter in demesne and in service in the vills of Higham Ferrers and Caldecote [Caldecott] with the appurtenances. To hold to the earl and his heirs and assigns of the chief lords of the fee by the services due and accustomed freely, quietly, well and in peace forever without any reservation.

County: Northamptonshire.

Additional people: Witnesses: Robert de Holaunde [Holand]; William Tuchet; William de Dacre; Hugh de Quilli; John de Asshton; John de Wylughby [Willoughby]; and Richard le Chamberleyn.
