Second party: The prior and convent of Assheby Chanoyns [Canons Ashby].
Place or subject: The earl grants to Maud Tybay that she can enfeoff the prior and convent in thirty-six acres of land, ten acres of meadow and 12d of rent with appurtenances in Atteneston [Adstone], which are held without an intermediary lord of the abbot of Bekherlewyn [Bec Hellouin], which tenements the abbot holds of the earl. To hold to the prior and convent and their successors of the chief lords of the fee by the services due and accustomed forever. [Further details given]. For which grant the prior and convent grant for themselves and their successors that they will hold yearly forever an obit for Edmund, father of the earl, on the 5 June, and a placebo, dirge and mass of requiem. If they fail to perform this anniversary in that form, then it will be lawful for the earl and his heirs to distrain in their lands and tenements in Atteneston [Adstone] and Assheby Chanoignes [Canons Ashby], and retain the distress, etc.
