Description

Folios: 127-127v. Northamptonshire. Agreement.

First party: James le Sauvage.

Second party: John Lovel.

Place or subject: James granted and leased to John the whole of his manor of Adrinton [Alderton] with the corn growing in the land there, and with all appurtenances, as fully and entirely as James ever held it. To hold to John and his heirs or assigns with the advowson of the church of the same manor in meadows, pastures, fields, plains, ways, paths, woods, waters, mills and all liberties, customs, rents and other appurtenances, from the feast of the Purification of St Mary in that year for the term of twelve years next following and fully to be completed, for 120 marks of sterling, for which John made satisfaction to James fully and sufficiently, doing all the services due and accustomed during that term. After the end of this term the manor is to entirely revert back in the thirteenth year, when eight and a half quarters of hard corn are brought under cultivation, in as good a state as John received it, without impediment or opposition from John. Similarly, John is not to make waste, etc, in the same manor.
