Description

Folio: 124. Northamptonshire. Grant.

First party: Richard, son of Geoffrey Ruffus of Copol [Cople].

Second party: Hawise de Quency, countess of Lincoln.

Place or subject: Three yardlands and one messuage with appurtenances in Bukkeby [Long Buckby], namely one yardland which Robert Banc holds, with his whole service and all his following; half a yardland which Thurstan Dreu holds with his whole service and following; half a yardland which Bennet Drew holds with his whole service and his whole following; half a yardland which Lece Colboys holds with all his service and following; half a yardland which Robert le Waleys holds of Richard for a term; and one messuage which Robert de Bolnhirst holds with the whole of his service and following. To hold to Hawise the countess, her heirs and assigns of Richard and his heirs freely, quietly, well and in peace, by right of inheritance forever, paying to Richard and his heirs yearly one pair of white gloves or one half penny at Easter for all service and demand. In addition, Richard has quitclaimed to Hawise and his heirs and assigns those 25s which she was accustomed to pay to him yearly from the mill of Bukkeby [Long Buckby]. For this quitclaim the countess gave to Richard thirty-six marks in advance.
