Folios: 120v-121. Sixty charters or muniments about Shenston [Shenstone], Staffordshire, in one box, marked by the letter S. Grant.
First party: Henry, earl of Lancaster and Leicester, steward of England.
Second party: William de Rolleston and Beatrice, his wife.
Place or subject: 24½ acres of land with appurtenances in Adgarsleye [[Agardsley], which William, son of the vicar, chaplain, Henry Michel and William Wade held at any time, in two parts of one rood of the earl's waste adjoining to William's messuage, in order to enlarge that messuage. To hold those tenements with common of pasture in the ward of Marchinton [Marchington], as Willliam, Henry and William had them in their time, etc, without the disturbance of William or his heirs, to William and Beatrice and their heirs in tail, freely, well and in peace, paying yearly to the earl and his heirs 12s 4d at the usual terms in the earl's manor of Adgayresleye [Agardsley], and making two appearances a year at the earl's court there for all services. If this rent will be in arrears beyond a year, then it will lawful for the earl and his earls to enter and reseise that land into his hands and retain it forever without opposition from William or his heirs.
