Description

Folio: 101v. Staffordshire. Writ.

First party: William, son of William de Merle.

Second party: William de Norton, William de Tissinton, William, son of Adam de Fermhalch and William son of Bennet and Sibyl, his wife.

Place or subject: Because William, son of William de Merle has quitclaimed to Edmund, son of Henry III [Edmund of Lancaster] the homages and services which William de Norton and the others were accustomed to do William, son of William de Merle, for the land which they held of him in Fermhalch near Neubigging [Biggin], to have to Edmund and his heirs forever without opposition, William, son of William de Merle commands William de Norton and the others that they are to be attendant and answerable to Edmund and his heirs as their lords from henceforth.
