Folios: 80-80v. Derbyshire. Grant.

First party: Henry, earl of Lancaster and Leicester, steward of England.

Second party: Richard de la Pole of Hertindon [Hartington].

Place or subject: One plot of land with appurtenances in Hertindon [Hartington] called le Castelcroft; and one plot of pasture called le Castelside; and one small hill called le Castel; and one plot of pasture called le Olde; and one plot of land and pasture called le Mulneclif; and one small plot of land called le Tongelondes. Which land and pasture lie together and extend in length from le Castelcroft as far as a certain plot of pasture of the same Richard called le Polclif, and in width from a certain field called Wythifordeflat to the way called Berdaleweye. And also one small plot of pasture called le Quarelside and one small plot of land next to the River Douve [Dove], where the old mill was once situated, in exchange for two selions of meadow, lying next to the meadow of the lord in Lodewellemedue. And for seven wagonloads of hay which Richard had and ought to have in the forest of the lord of Croudecote [Crowdecote], and which he used to take in Nielesmedue. To hold to Richard and his heirs in tail of the earl and his heirs by the service of one rose, payable at the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist for all service in the said exchange forever.
