Description

Folio: 65. Warwickshire. Grant.

First party: Henry de Braundestone.

Second party: The chaplain and his successors celebrating divine services in the chapel of St Mary of Overe Etyndone [Ettington] for the souls of Thomas, earl of Lancaster, his progenitors and heirs, and the souls of Robert de Hoylonde [Holand] and William de Hichintone [Itchington], and the souls of Henry's father and mother, in pure and perpetual alms.

Place or subject: 8s of rent for two messuages and two yardlands in Overe Etyndone [Ettington], which John Baret and William atte Welle previously held of him in villeinage. Paying yearly 8s of rent to the chaplain and his successors at the two terms of the year, namely at Michaelmas and the Annunciation of the Blessed Mary in equal portions. If that rent will be in arrears at those terms, the chaplain and his successors are to distrain upon one of those yardlands for 4s of the 8s of rent, and upon another yardland for the other 4s of rent, into whoever's hands they pass, without taking any other profit from those tenements by reason of those 8s of rent.
