Place or subject: Because Ranulf, earl of Chester has demised and granted to the king to have in demesne Cernelegam and Cernewodam and Aldremanehagam in defence, and to have all the woods which were of the fee of the earl of Chester, which concern the forest of Legrecestre [Leicester], except for his park, in defence from waste and wild beasts, the king grants to Robert, earl of Leicester that he might have these in inheritance with his other fee. The king commands that he is to hold them well, quietly and honourably with all his customs.
