First party: Edmund, brother of Edward I [Edmund of Lancaster], by Roger le Brabezun, his attorney.
Second party: William, son of William de Sadinton of Leycestre [Leicester].
Place or subject: 60s of rent with appurtenances in Ayleston [Aylestone] and Brunkingstorp [Bruntingthorpe] which Ellen, formerly the wife of William de Sadinton, father of William, was accustomed to pay to the same William, son of William from the lands and tenements with appurtenances that Ellen previously held of William, son of William in those vills by the gift of William, son of William, for the term of her life. Whereupon a plea of covenant was summoned between them in the same court, namely that William, son of William acknowledged this rent with appurtenances to be the right of Edmund. To have and receive yearly to Edmund and his heirs by the hands of Ellen during her whole life at two terms, namely a moiety at Easter and the other moiety at Michaelmas. William, son of William granted that all the lands and tenements which Ellen held of his inheritance in those vills for the term of her life, from which the said rent issues, namely two parts of one messuage, four tofts, four virgates of land, nine roods of meadow, 3s 3d of rent and the rent of six hens in Brunkingstorp [Bruntingthorpe], two parts of one messuage, two tofts, four virgates of land, eighteen acres of meadow, 5s 5¾d of rent and the rent of two capons in Ayleston [Aylestone] and Endredeby [Enderby], and also that the third part of all these tenements, namely one messuage, 15d of rent and the rent of five hens in Leycestre [Leicester], a third part of one messuage, four tofts, four virgates of land, nine roods of meadow, 3s 3d of rent and the rent of six hens in Brunkingstorp [Bruntingthorpe], a third part of one messuage, two tofts, four virgates of land, eighteen acres of meadow, 5s 5¾d of rent and the rent of two capons in Ayleston {Aylestone] and Endredeby [Enderby], which Ellen held in dower from the inheritance of William, son of William in those vills and also in the vill of Leicester on the day on which this concord was made, and which after Ellen's death ought to revert to William, son of William and his heirs after the decease of Ellen are to entirely remain to Edmund and his heirs. To hold of the chief lords of those fees by the services pertaining to those tenements forever. And William, son of William granted that two messuages, 6d of rent and the rent of two hens in Leycestre [Leicester] and Brunkingstorp [Bruntingthorpe], which Ellen held for the term of her life from the inheritance of William, son of William in those vills on the day on which this concord was made, by the purchase of William de Sadinton, father of William, whose heir he is, by feoffment made thereof to William and Ellen and their heirs in tail, and which after her death ought to revert to William, son of William and his heirs, after the decease of Ellen are to entirely remain to Edmund and his heirs. To hold of the chief lord of those fees by those services forever. It will not be lawful for Ellen to give, sell or alienate in any way those tenements or to make waste or destruction thereof or any part thereof, etc. For this concord Edmund gave William, son of William, one sparrowhawk.
