Description

Folios: 59v-60. Leicestershire. Grant.

First party: William, son of William de Sadington.

Second party: Edmund, son of Henry III [Edmund of Lancaster].

Place or subject: The whole service which Ellen, mother of William did and ought to do in her life for the lands and tenements she held from him for her life in Leycestre [Leicester], Bronkingthorp [Bruntingthorpe] and Ayleston [Aylestone], and also any right which William had or could have in those tenements, without any reservation. To hold to the earl and his heirs together with the homages and services of freeholders, wards, reliefs and escheats, villeins with their villeinages and all other things pertaining to those lands or tenements, forever, freely, quietly and by inheritance of the chief lords of those fees by the services due and accustomed. For this grant Edmund gave William 200 marks sterling.
