Folios: 56-56v. Leicestershire. Quitclaim.
First party: William, abbot of Leicester, and the convent of the same place.
Second party: Thomas, earl of Lancaster and Leicester, steward of England.
Place or subject: All their right in a certain close which is called le Thorneclos in the vill of Thornton with appurtenances, just as it is enclosed by a ditch and hedge. Which close the abbot and convent had of the gift and feoffment of Anthony, bishop of Durham [Anthony Bek]. Saving to the earl his right of tithes there belonging to his church of Thornton.
County: [Leicestershire].
Additional people: Witnesses: Robert de Holand; Robert de Stapilton; Richard de Shulton; Robert de Herle; and Ralph de Turville.
Dated in the abbey of Leicester.
Saturday next after the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Mary 1311 (4 Edw II).
