Place or subject: The whole land which he had in the vill of Cottesmore with all appurtenances without any reservation. To hold to the earl and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, peacefully and entirely in woods, plains, pastures, meadows, waters, ways, paths and all other places by right of inheritance forever, paying yearly to the earl and his heirs one pair of gilt spurs at Michaelmas for all services, complaints and secular exactions, saving the service of the king pertaining to that land. For this grant Simon gave the earl 100s of sterling.
