Description

Folios: 51-51v. Leicestershire. Grant.

First party: John Cagge, burgess of Leicester.

Second party: Edmund, son of Henry III, late king of England [Edmund of Lancaster].

Place or subject: 21s of yearly rent in the vill of Leicester, namely from Robert de Witewyk for a house with appurtenances in which he lives in the High Street of Leicester, 8s 6d a year; and from William de Hodingis for a house with appurtenances where he lives next to the house of Robert de Wytewik, 9s a year; and from the house of Ralph Oliver, where Alexander Lorimer lives, next to the house of William de Hoding, 3s 6d a year. For £10 10s sterling paid in advance. To hold to Edmund and his heirs or his assigns freely, quietly, well and in peace forever, paying to John Cagge and his heirs and assigns one rose on the day of the Nativity of St John the Baptist for wards, reliefs, heriots, suit of courts and for an oath of fealty and for all other secular exactions and demands.
