Description

Folios: 49v-50. Leicestershire. Quitclaim.

First party: Henry Lovel, cook.

Second party: Simon de Montfort, earl of Leicester.

Place or subject: The whole land and tenement which Henry held in Gaham [Gotham] from the demise and grant of Richard de Muscegros and Robert, his son, together with the advowson of the church there and all appurtenances pertaining to that land and tenements, as in messuages, demesnes, lands, tenements, waters, ways, paths, mills, fishponds, hedges, ditches, meadows, pastures, commons, homages, services, customs, rents, reliefs, wards, escheats and all other things pertaining to that land and tenements, without any reservation. To hold to the earl and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, well and in peace forever, doing to Richard de Muscegros and Robert, his son the service, as is more fully contained in writings which Henry had from them, remaining in Henry's hands, for all services customs, suits and secular demands. For this quitclaim the earl gave to Henry 110 marks sterling.
